ABOUT VARIETY GERALDTON
Variety WA is supported by many Australians and our success depends on the number of caring people who generously give of their time and energy to help children. Variety Australia has consistently shown a growth rate both in funds raised and in the number of appeals granted to a wide cross section of institutions and individual children in need. Variety WA – Midwest Geraldton Branch commenced in 1993 when local bashers and business proprietors met to organise event based functions to fundraise for children in the Midwest region. The Branch has operated on a vountary basis and depends on the generosity and goodwill of its sponsors, members and volunteers who devote their time and enegy to helping children in the Midwest region.
We could not operate without the assistance of all these people and our success is due to their extraordinary efforts, whether they participate in our various fundraising events or the many businesses who come on board as sponsors to alleviate costs to the organisation. Our aim is to make sure the 'wow' factor is evident in everything we do. Variety Geraldton has now taken on the very important step of appointing a Regional Co-ordinator to further build on the success of the branch. Our major fundraising events for 2008 included the construction and sale of the Variety Geraldton charity home at 35 Ego Creek Loop, Waggrakine, Corporate Charity Golf Day, the 2008 4WD Murchison Getaway and Melbourne Cup Sweep Raffle and the opening of the Variety WA waterpark on the Geraldton foreshore. |
